Great Burn Brewing is micro brewery and taproom located in Missoula, Montana.
Belgian Strong brewed with 20 Lbs. of pitted / crushed Flathead cherries and local honey. Pitched with Abbey Belgian yeast, the same yeast we use for our Belgian Golden Ale. This yeast flavor seems to dominate this beer but finishes with subtle cherry flavor. The spicy yeast flavors should diminish over time lending itself to more cherry flavor.
A traditional German wheat beer brewed with 50/50 blend of malted wheat and pilsner malts. Fermented with German wheat yeast which gives you light banana and clove notes. Once fermentation was finished we aged the beer on 3.5 pounds of fresh jalapenos to give a good kick.
Idaho Seven is an experimental hop grown by Alpha Hop Sales in Parma, Idaho. The Idaho Seven hop has an aroma of tropical fruit and peach flavors. It has a strong bitterness up front that mellows over time. The beer style is considered an aggressive pale ale brewed with Two-row and Crystal malts, and hopped with only Idaho Seven.
English-style IPA brewed with jasmine green tea from Lake Missoula Tea Company. This IPA was brewed with Gambrinus ESB malt and a touch of dextra pils for great mouthfeel and body. Hops included Magnum, El Dorado and Amarillo that lend a fruity and flora aroma. A pound of jasmine green tea was infused into the brew following fermentation. This IPA has a great aroma with a strong bitter finish.
Great Burn Brewing’s second run of our May specialty release. This release is in celebration of Missoula’s Craft Beer week and to honor our fallen brother Chad whose birthday is also in May. This another big, but well- balanced beer with a high % ABV and robust hop flavor. This 2X IPA has a great body with a grain bill including Montana Two-row, Munich, and wheat malts. On the hop side this beer has five different varieties including Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, Palisade and Simco. To add even more hop aroma, whole-leaf Palisade and Simco hops were used in a hop-back. Following fermentation this IPA was dry-hopped with both Centennial and Chinook. This 2X IPA is surprisingly well-balanced with complex hop flavor.
